This is an old presentation but a goody. Lance Weiler is a filmmaker who is ahead of his times. Here he presents a case study on the launch and distribution of his feature horror film Head Trauma and how he utilised social media to market and distribute the film. While it might be harder to shift DVD’s in 2010 – he sold 45,000 of them in 2007 – and social networks are much more congested, his overall strategies remain sound for filmmakers. Head Trauma has the most amazing web presence which is a mix between graphic novel and live action horror. Weiler is a multi skilled producer/director whose adaptability is inspiring. And he is generous with his knowledge, it’s worth checking out his Workbook project here.
Why aren’t all filmmakers this savvy?
